CleanPaste Pro ("Extension," "we," "us," or "our") is a Chrome browser extension committed to protecting your privacy and handling data securely in compliance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.


OUR CORE PRIVACY COMMITMENT: ZERO DATA RETENTION

We collect zero personal identifying data and never store your input text. Our architecture is designed to give you maximum privacy while delivering high-speed AI performance.


1. Information We DO NOT Collect


  • We DO NOT collect your name, email address, IP address, or precise location.

  • We DO NOT track your web browsing history, sites you visit, or any content outside of the text you explicitly paste into the extension’s popup.

  • We DO NOT use cookies, third-party trackers, or analytics SDKs.

  • We DO NOT store or retain the text you paste into the Extension on any of our servers or databases.


2. Data Processing Architecture (Local vs. External)


We are transparent about where your data is processed:

3. External Data Processing & Third Parties


Your text is only transmitted externally when you explicitly use a Pro AI preset. This transmission is necessary for the AI functionality.

  • Input Text (Pro Presets): Text you submit for AI processing (e.g., Human-Friendly, TL;DR) is sent securely via HTTPS/TLS to the Groq API via our Cloudflare Worker endpoint. This text is processed for the sole purpose of generating the improved output and is not retained, logged, or used for model training by us or our service providers.

  • Gumroad License API: To verify Pro access, only your license key and product ID are sent to Gumroad. No input text is ever transmitted during this check.


4. Data We Collect and Retain (Minimal)


The only data we retain is essential for the extension to function and is fully anonymized:

  • Extension Preferences: Stored locally using Chrome's secure storage API (e.g., your saved Sender Name). Retained until you delete or uninstall the extension.

  • Usage Data (Aggregated): Minimal, anonymized data (e.g., total number of times the "Human-Friendly" preset was used across all users). This data cannot be tied to any individual and is used strictly for performance optimization and feature improvement.



5. Data Security & Retention

  • Encryption: All communication (API calls, license validation) is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

  • Data Minimization: We only process the absolute minimum data required to deliver the service.

  • Retention: Upon uninstallation, all local data is automatically removed. External data (Pro input text) is deleted immediately after processing.


6. Data Sharing


We do not sell, rent, or share any personal data. We only share the minimal, non-text data (license key) with Gumroad for the purpose of subscription verification.


7. Changes to This Policy


We may update this policy to reflect changes in our data practices. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the Effective Date and posting the revised policy on the Chrome Web Store listing page.
